Nicky is a Harbourlights dam that is very dear to our hearts. We first met her in the summer of 1988 shortly after she whelped her first litter, the litter that our first Toller, Swish, came from. Nicky had a more golden colour of coat than Gatter, but had the dark eyes and dark pigment lips that Gatter had. Almost every time we visited and saw Nicky, she was standing on her hind legs in her run.

Ducky is another Harbourlights dog that is very near and dear to us. She is the Dam of our Salty. If one takes a close look at pictures of Splash, Ducky and Salty, one can readily see similarity in head type, ears and facial expression.

Sam was a big female, and one of Erna’s favourites. For years Sam’s kennel run was on the side facing the Nickerson’s family room and Erna always enjoyed watching Sam from that vantage point.

Meg is the Dam of Twister, our first Brood Bitch. She definitely passed on to Twister that intense and thinking look that you see in the picture. Again, Meg has that wonderful red coloured coat, although somewhat shorter in length that the male Harbourlights dogs. Meg is also the Dam of our Gibby, the Toller that we got in the summer of 1997 when Erna was so very ill.

Nova’s Image was one of the last females that Avery selected to use in the Harbourlights breeding program. Foxy Amber was one of Avery’s favourite dams. Female offspring of Foxy Amber that were kept by the Nickersons for their own breeding program. include I’m Just Ducky, Sassy Sam and Tawny Two.

Tawny Two was selected by Erna to be used in the breeding program. When Harbourlights Kennels was dissolved in 1999, Kare Kennels incorporated Tawny into their breeding program. Redland Kennels now has 2 of Tawny’s off spring, Kare’s Redland Rocket and Kare’s Redland Robin.
